Contractor to provide suppliesservices as described below for aircraft sunshade canopies on Luke Air Force Base AZ The contract performance period will be for five years or until the maximum contract amount is reached at the prices specified and in accordance with the statement of work SOW ESTIMATED INITIAL ORDER WILL BE FOR APPROXIMATELY 20 UNITS The total estimated sunshade units for the life of the contract is an estimated thirtysix 36 units Contractor Submission Requirements All prospective offerors shall provide a copy of their proposed design of the Sunshade Canopies with their quotation Column Base Plate and Bolts The aircraft shade canopies shall be bolted to the concrete parking apron Installation The contractor shall be required to install canopies to include bolting to the parking apron as directed by the contracting officer Work shall be coordinated between all parties interested at a preinstallation meeting to be determined prior to mobilization All installation will be conducted in order to limit disruption of operations and in accordance with base safety and security requirements Center Section Each shade canopy center section must remain open and free of support framing Area must remain open except for the shade material to allow for possible pilot ejection 80 Sun Screen Shade Material The color of the sun screen material shall be Desert Tan to match the existing shade canopies installed on the 944th Apron Possible source is the Twitchill Company located in Dothan Alabama The shade material must be fire resistant designed to melt instead of burning when fire is applied this type of material is the only type approved by the base Fire Dept The material shall be attached by sheet metal screws with rubber backed washers Screws must be spaced along the vertical axis and on the canopy ends to provide maximum strength Reflective Tape The outer structure from the ground vertical to fifteen feet shall be covered with white reflective tape the inner structure will require the bottom nine feet to be covered with white reflective tape Any support braces located nine feet above the surface shall require installation of the white reflective tape All white reflective tape shall be a minimum of 2 wide and selfadhesive Instructions 5 copies of assembly and disassembly instructions shall be provided SUMMARY The shade Canopy framework shall be painted a light stone color to match existing canopies The entire structure including but not limited to bolts fasteners screws and D rings must withstand winds of 75 MPH The sunscreen fabric must withstand winds of 70 MPH All framework shall have a 20 year warranty against corrosion and structural defects The sun screen material must have a five year warranty against fading and deterioration The contractor shall furnish all design and load calculations prepared by a professional engineer and verified by a visible PE stamp All canopies must be collapsibleremovable and not be considered permanent structure eg Bolted not welded If structurally feasible install a steel D ring at the base of one rear corner vertical column base to allow for a tie sown capability for aircraft during high winds
