Mobile Pallet Racking System

All material equipment and services required for the installation of a Mobile Pallet Racking System in the USPFO CIF warehouse to include a 2 new rows of pallet racking each of which is 471 12 in length and 166 78 in height with 4 beams levels per bay This will equal 20 beam levels per pallet racking system and 40 pallet positions per pallet racking system for a combined total of 40 beam levels and 80 pallet positions b A site visit will be required to ensure the contractor has all of the correct measurements in order to properly order the system c All new beam levels will include grating that allows for the placement and storage of standard pallets d This will also include the installation of 2 mobile carriages on surface mounted rails one for the new pallet racking and one for the preexisting pallet racking already in the warehouse e The preexisting pallet racking will be removed from its existing location by the contractor and reinstalled into one of the mobile carriages f The preexisting pallet racking has 3 beam levels in each of the 10 bays an additional 4th beam level with grating will need to be added at the ground level to each of those 10 bays and a 5th beam level with grating will need to be added between the bottom and middle beam levels in 3 of the bays g Surface mounted rails shall withstand forklifts transiting over them the rails must be able to withstand at a minimum 10000 lbs driving across them on a routine basis h Contractor shall install surface mounted rail system on the existing floor i Contractor will ensure not to damage the integrity of the floor the ceiling all existing lighting and fire suppression systems or any other aspects of the facility j Contractor shall Hardwire mobile pallet racking system into the existing electrical system k The carriages shall be able to hold 16000 pounds per bay l The carriages shall be able to hold 160000 pounds in total m Contractor will include signage on each system that states maximum allowable weights per beam level and maximum allowable weights per bay and total maximum allowable weight per carriage system n Mobile pallet racking system must allow for both mobile shelving units to collapse both left and right widening the work area o Contractor is responsible for conducting a functions test to ensure all systems operate correctly in all modes p Contractor will ensure that placement of systems and installation meets all OSHA state and local requirements q Contractor will have access to the facility between the hours of 0800 1600 AKST Mon Thur r Contractor will provide their own Material handling Equipment s The contractor is responsible for loading and transporting all debris generated t Disposal of debris shall be at contractors expense and shall be delivered to a state approved disposal site located off base u Debris will be disposed of in accordance with applicable Federal State and local laws codes ordinances and regulations v The contractor will provide one year warranty on parts and labor w The contractor will provide service contact information and warranty forms x Contractor needs to have nearby installer available in case of needed follow up and warranty work If a vendor is interested and able to provide for this requirement please furnish information about company capabilities regarding the same or similar products Estimates and references from customers who are using these products would also be relevant Submit questions in writing to Joshua Centilli at joshuaacentillicivarmymil by Friday 19 April 2024 Any government responses will be added to this Sources Sought along with the questions

2024 award General Site Description Melvin Price Locks and Dam is located on the Mississippi River near Alton Illinois approximately 213 river miles upstream from St Louis and 2008 miles above the mouth of the Ohio River  The project consists of a main lock and an auxiliary lock a dam containing nine Tainter gates and a fixed submersible dike reaching the Missouri Side of the River  The main lock is 1200 ft by 110 ft with a lift gate at the upstream end and a miter gate at the downstream end of the lock chamber  The auxiliary lock is 600 ft by 110 ft with a set of miter gates at the upstream and downstream ends Project Scope Description The work will consist of furnishing all labor equipment operators supervision supplies and materials and incidentals necessary to perform the Melvin Price Locks Dam Direct Acting Cylinder Installation Lock Wall Grating Replacement and Handrail Anchorage Connection Rehabilitation Project  The work is anticipated to be accomplished with traditional river marine construction equipment such as floating plant and barge mounted crane and staged inside the auxiliary lock chamber The structural work on the project includes but is not limited to the following Removal of existing grating and framing demolition of existing concrete placement of new concrete and installation of new grating and framing at the existing auxiliary lock miter gate machinery recesses to create new miter gate machinery recesses for the new direct acting cylinder Installation of new direct acting cylinder including anchorage to concrete at the new auxiliary lock miter gate machinery recesses  Contractor must be able to perform work in accordance with AWS D15 and hydraulic structural steel specifications Modifications to existing miter gate leaves to receive new direct acting cylinder strut arm including careful demolition of existing upstream top girder flange removal of existing strut box and installation of new strut box  Contractor must be able to perform work in accordance with AWS D15 and hydraulic structural steel specifications Removal of existing grating and framing demolition of existing concrete placement of new concrete and installation of new grating and framing at auxiliary lock culvert valve pits and bulkhead slots Protection and reattachment of existing mechanical and electrical systems in auxiliary lock culvert valve pits during construction Removal of existing guardrail system for reuse demolition of existing concrete and embedded metal sleeves at base of existing guardrail posts placement of new concrete and reinstallation of existing guardrail system with new base plate at lock walls and guide walls excluding the bridge and dam  Intent is to replace all embedded guardrail post connections with surfacemounted connections The mechanical work on the project includes but is not limited to the following Demolition of existing miter gate machinery including the removal of the hydraulic cylinder
