The US Geological Survey USGS anticipates entering into noncompetitive negotiations with the University of Idaho UI located at the University of Idaho Research Park in Post Falls Idaho for 3786 square feet of office and 4000 square feet of parkingoutside storage space The subject space will be in support of an ongoing cooperative project between USGS and the University of Idaho and will be located directly on the University of Idaho Research Park 721 Lochsa Street Post Falls USGS and UI routinely collaborate on projects associated with the evaluation of metal contaminants in the Spokane and Coeur dAlene River Basins and the protection of endangered fish species in the Kootenai River Projects benefiting USGS by working directly at the Research Park include the Lower Coeur dAlene metals transport study Coeur dAlene Basin abandoned mine lands studies and the Kootenai River white sturgeon recovery study Colocation of USGS and UI scientists jointly working on these projects will greatly improve their ability to share information and ideas which in turn will result in better scientific understanding of the processes being studied Other benefits include USGS participation in UI graduate programs as both students and instructors Onsite shared resources available to USGS personnel at the Research Park include access to the UIs interactive compressed video system a stateoftheart telecommunications system that would facilitate realtime meetings conferences workshops and training with interactive access to participants throughout the state USGS will gain access to the University of Idahos laboratory located in the Research Park to perform various water quality analyses and water sample preparation processes USGS will have access to University owned scientific and research equipment such as surveygrade GPSs and acoustic Doppler velocimeters that would enhance ability to conduct water resources investigations in the area The lease term will be ten years Suppliers who believe they can provide the required space with the same university privileges are invited to submit an affirmative response by February 01 2002 in accordance with note 22 All such responses will be evaluated in order to determine whether that supplier has full knowledge and capabilities to meet requirements of USGS An affirmative response should be provided to the point of contact Kevin Brenot Phone 6503294126 or Susan Moser Phone 6503294051 This notice is for information purposes only Request for Proposal RFP is not available This notice may represent the Governments only official notice of this procurement See note 22

The Grand Canyon Monitoring and Research Center GCMRC in Flagstaff Arizona has a need for airborne LIDAR and orthorectified colorinfrared digital imagery of the Colorado River corridor from the Glen Canyon Dam at Lake Powell down to but not including Lake Mead The collection area includes approximately 490 linear river kilometers with an average swath of 500 meters centered on the river LIDAR and imagery must be acquired between May 19 and June 2 2002 LIDAR and image data shall be georeferenced using airborne GPS and IMU technology and shall not be dependent upon ground control Data shall be georeferenced equal to or better than 30 cm horizontal and 15 cm vertical absolute accuracy for LIDAR data and equal to or better than 2 meters horizontal accuracy for orthorectified image data with less than 05 meters being preferred Colorinfrared imagery are to be collected shadow free Image data are to be collected with sun angles no less than 65 degrees during the period of work performance weather and lighting conditions allowing LIDAR data acquisition is to occur within the same calendar time period as that for the image data LIDAR data shall be collected at no greater than 1 m across track and 1 meter along track Half angles not to exceed 20 degrees LIDAR deliverables shall include only raw State Plane xyz coordinates and shall NOT be processed to remove vegetation or cultural features Threeband digital color infrared imagery is the basic requirement with spectral bands centered within or near the wavelength ranges 053054 066067 and 0790815 microns Band width cannot exceed 01 micron with 005006 being preferred Additional wavelength bands are highly desirable especially a band centered within or near the range of 070 microns andor a band centered within or near the ranges of 202207 microns A pixel resolution 18cm resolution is preferred but resolution up to 24cm will also be seriously considered Image data shall be radiometrically corrected on an imagebyimage basis Imagery shall be collected in stereo with 60 forward overlap Deliverables shall include raw imagery and individual orthorectified georeferenced image frames in GeoTIFF 50 format All LIDAR point data image data and metadata that are delivered to the GCMRC shall conform to applicable GCMRC data standards and delivery requirements All items are to be delivered in digital format on DVD media FGDCcompliant metadata using the metadata tool in Arc Catalog must be developed for each file delivered Index maps for all deliverables is required All final products shall be delivered within 90 calendar days following the completion of data acquisition For more detailed information on the collection area approved ground base stations locations and data standards and delivery requirements please review the ArcInfo coverages and other documents in the flights2002 directory on the GCMRC ftp site located at ftpftpgcmrcgovdataflights2002 Twostep best value acquisition is contemplated Award will be based on price and other factors including past performance technical merit and quality Statement of Work and data standards will be available from the contracting officer via email or through web site Preaward andor post award conferences andor demo flights may be required Point of contact is Joyce E Stevenson Contracting Officer 9163793716 or 6503294174 email jstevensonusgsgov fax 6503295114 Submit name address phone fax and email to the contracting officer Address all questions to the contracting officer
