The Ballistic Missile Defense Organization BMDO intends to award a sole source contract in January 2002 to Utah State University Space Dynamics Laboratory USUSDL to obtain the space sensor component of the ongoing BMDO RAMOS Program The scope of this effort includes the design fabrication testing and integration of two space sensors for the RAMOS Program The work includes six broad activities a the performance of tradeoff analyses for applicability of sensor technology to perform joint United States USRussian Federation RF RAMOS space experiments b the detailed design and final development of sensors able to fully support the RAMOS science objectives c fabrication of test articles and simulators two flight articles and prototypes of promising sensor concepts d the integration sparing of components and testing of space sensors with a space platform including calibration launch support and onorbit testing e the planning for and execution of joint US RF sensor experiments as part of the RAMOS Program and f the analytical support to BMDO of data collected from the RAMOS sensors The Government anticipates a twoyear CostPlusAwardFee contract for the design and fabrication of two sensor suites with five 5 oneyear options for integration sparing of components testing and onorbit maintenance of the sensors Acquisition systems level specifications for the sensors are available to the Government The approximate value of the contract is between 100 million and 120 million Award of the contract will be made pursuant to 10 USC 2304c1 See Number Notes 22 and 26
